Roofing Maintenance

When included as part of a property’s annual inspection, roofing issues are easily detected.  This helps reduce a property owner’s chance of having to deal with expensive re-roofs or underlying structural repairs.

As roofing materials such as shingles or shakes age, they often allow minor amounts of moisture to seep into the roof substructure.  Once this occurs, materials such as sheathing, rafters and attic insulation may begin to slowly breakdown.  Roofing materials can last and average of 15 to 30 years depending on materials and cost.  Shingle life-ratings are useful to help determine the best product for the roof application, based on the property owner's requirements.

Technically advanced shingle materials, such as fiberglass and carbon filament are durable alternatives to standard cedar-shake, slate or composition products and are available through Tri-State.
